My research aims to improve our understanding of how the Milky Way's stars and clusters form and evolve.
In collaboration with WWU students and colleagues at other institutions, I analyze data from large astrophysical surveys (e.g., the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, the European Space Agency's Gaia mission, and soon, the Rubin Observatory's Legacy Survey of Space and Time. I also use ground- and space-based observatories to collect data (typically optical and near-infrared spectra) for targeted investigations.
