I see physics as a systematic approach to understanding the world around us, and any rich physical theory should be able to explain a large variety of observable phenomena. My interests lie in teaching courses that help students develop this approach to physics. As such, I enjoy teaching most of the first-year courses in physics, from conceptual physics to the algebra- and calculus-based courses. Recently, introductory astronomy crept into my course repertoire. I continue to use the approach of applying physical principles to explain observations, but those observations have now expanded from the world around us to the skies around us.
